After three decades of working in large organisations in financial services, Brian Bissaker took on a start-up.

Brian Bissaker has had over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry including as the CEO of Colonial First State and Virgin Money Australia, and as a Group Executive of the Bank of Queensland.

So, why chair a “start-up”?

“It’s pretty simple. I saw significant potential in this business for the Australian market,” Brian says.

“Having spent so many years as a senior professional in funds management, superannuation and life insurance businesses, I fully understand the complexity of these businesses.

“For many money managers, the struggle is with the legacy infrastructure they have to grapple with,” Brian says.

“That combination will provide a significant uplift in levels of service, efficiency and timelines for asset managers here in Australia.”

Brian says the Artega business is unique.

“First, the ability to have front, middle and back office functionality on the one platform. Second, the administrators of the platform are based here in Australia, which is really important because it allows clients to develop a closer relationship with their administrators,” he says.

“And thirdly, the platform allows administration of a broad range of complex strategies and transaction. If you combine those three, I think it is unmatched in Australia.”
